The First Thought, Well, Second Thought After the First
When I signed up for my Master’s program at Full Sail, I discovered that I would need to create a blog or website to journal my progress in the program. I also thought it was a good idea to get ahead of the curve because my chosen beat is to report on video games. I decided to create a website – The GameLag Journal. I also created a blog for my journey.
But who would read it if they didn’t know me?
The best part of this journey is that you will discover much about me as you journey along. This approach says a lot about me. I am someone who never gives too much from the beginning. But my name is John, for starters.
Fast Forward
Here we are writing our first draft for our blog.
What would my first entry be?
I decided to revisit my first entry on my website. I talked about the first steps in our journey and how these steps go unnoticed. Sometimes those first steps are the hardest, and sometimes we overlook the very first step: the thought itself.
What are the thoughts I have?
I spend time thinking about:
- what needs to be done
- how to do it
- when to start
- What tools will be needed
- and why it must be done
They are possibly the most important parts of the process.
These are just a few things I think about in my first steps, but there are others. These steps include formulating the ideas, developing the plan, and identifying areas of concern, to name a few. There are more, but these first steps are important because without real thought behind them, the plan will not exist or the journey will fall apart.
